We have a team of approximately 200 specialist staff with one of the broadest product ranges on offer across our markets (8 main product lines). We are known for our market leading knowledge-based UW, Claims, Risk advise & training. Client focus is key
Dimensions of the role
The role holder will be part of the Underwriting Management team, with a primary focus on static exposure and aggregate monitoring, in addition to providing support to the wider Underwriting Management team where necessary. The main purpose of the role is to perform the following activities:
To ensure that underwriting exposure data is entered onto specialist modelling and insurance software in a timely and accurate manner
To act as a key point of contact for all queries on related classes with day to day contact with underwriters and underwriting assistants
To provide feedback to underwriters to enable improvements in exposure data capture / workflow and assist with process development
Support the Underwriting Management team with processes (such as business planning, projection & reserving, class performance reviews) and other ad-hoc reporting and control processes when required
Review, monitor and improve reporting capabilities
What does this role require?
Operational: Ensuring the timely & accurate capture of underwriting exposure data and aggregate information within catastrophe modelling systems. Process improvements. Ad-hoc tasks.
Management Reporting: Monitoring, production and maintenance of aggregate exposure monitoring within our exposure management system, sharing insights with underwriters and management. Develop monitoring capabilities. Reporting non-exposure modelling related portfolio trends / developments / insights
Customer Relationships: Building key relationships within MS Amlin Marine inspiring confidence and rapport, acting key point of contact for exposure capture and monitoring queries. Working with the wider underwriting management team to achieve common goals
Standards and Compliance: Adhere to relevant company standards, and willingness to conduct yourself in line with our values. Ensure that management standards are maintained and bring to the attention of line management any areas of potential deficiency
Personnel: Eager for personal and professional development, including strong relations with the various underwriting teams and other stakeholders
Other: Keep up-to-date with new developments affecting the business. Assist developers and actuaries with ongoing projects. Ad hoc projects as required
