Join the Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing (FTQC) team within Quandela’s Scalable Architecture division - where theory is developed in close collaboration with experimental and systems engineering teams to advance scalable photonic quantum computing.
As a senior Quantum Error Correction researcher, you will shape the development of our fault-tolerant quantum computing architecture.
Your insights will guide the evolution of our long-term roadmap and contribute to the robustness and scalability of Quandela’s cutting-edge hardware.
Why Join Quandela ?
Quandela is at the forefront of photonic quantum computing, combining deep scientific investigation with a strong engineering mindset.
Our R&D spans the full quantum computing stack—from quantum device fabrication to system-level control and quantum software.
In this role, you will contribute to key milestones for our FTQC roadmap, while collaborating with our in-house experts and our extended network of academic partners (INRIA Paris, LIP6 – Sorbonne Université, INRIA Saclay, Institut de Mathématiques de Bordeaux…).
You will join a team committed to delivering meaningful advances in quantum error correction - both in theory and in its implementation on real photonic systems.
What You’ll Do
You will lead the design and performance analysis of fault-tolerant protocols adapted to our spin-photon systems. Your contributions will support both near-term experiments and long-term system scaling.
Initial scope includes:
Collaborate across domains: Work closely with hardware and software teams to model errors, improve simulations, and design QEC experiments.
Research with a Scalable Purpose
This position offers a rare blend of deep scientific exploration and concrete technological impact.
You will join a collaborative environment where theoretical advances are not just encouraged - they are essential to building real quantum systems.
Our research efforts are embedded in a broader ecosystem of peer-reviewed publications and international academic partnerships, ensuring both scientific rigor and real-world relevance.
At Quandela, your work will influence prototypes, inform system architecture, and directly support our scalable FTQC roadmap.
And beyond the lab, your contributions will resonate across the community—through publications, conference talks, and collaborations that help define the future of fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Requirements
Ideal Profile
This position is well-suited for a scientist who combines deep theoretical training with a desire to see ideas translated into real, scalable platforms.
Benefits
Working Environment
Quandela is a deep-tech quantum company based in Paris-Saclay, with strong academic roots (CNRS/C2N) and a mission to develop large-scale quantum computers.
The R&D department integrates rigorous scientific research with rapid iteration cycles and a commitment to practical impact.
We value both excellence and pragmatism: you'll contribute to systems that are designed to operate in industrial environments - not just on paper.
Diversity & Openness
At Quandela, we value intellectual diversity, curiosity, and initiative. If you’re passionate about QEC and see yourself contributing - even if you don’t meet every listed requirement - we’d love to hear from you.
Come as you are. If you're driven by challenge and inspired by the future of quantum computing—let's talk.
